Final grades are now available on the grade lookup page.

The average for the final exam was a 72.1 with a standard deviation of 14.7.

I hope everyone has a good fourth mod!  Take care.

My TA has graded the homeworks, and you can take a look at your grade on the grade lookup page.  When I physically get the homeworks back, I'll look through them to make sure there aren't any big grading mistakes.  If there are, I will adjust some grades up (but I won't adjust down).

My second TA has given me her rankings, and her top 3 is exactly the same as my first TA's top 3.  All of these students will receive a lower A on the final exam.  This means that if the student decides not the take the final exam, they will receive a score on the final that is ranked 9th (out of 41 students).  Recognize that depending on the student's performance on the other material for the class, having the 9th highest score on the final exam does not guarantee that the student will receive an A for the entire class.  A student needs to be in the top 14 by overall score to get an A for the class.

Two multiple choice questions on the final exam will come from the six video projects that received an A.  These six videos can be downloaded from the "Book Summaries" page (see the link to the left).  For the project on "Reminiscences of a Stock Operator", the video should be played with QuickTime, not Windows Media Player or the Camtasia Player.

The top 3 ranked videos are (not in any particular order):

The Intelligent Investor (Hui and Marilena)
The Wisdom of Crowds (Alex and Steve)
One Up on Wall Street (Ron and Justin)

The final exam will be from 1:55 - 3:50 PM in Stuzin 104 on Thursday, March 1.  For the final exam, you are permitted to use a calculator and one 8.5-inch by 11-inch card (note that this has changed!!!--it used to say 4 inch by 6 inch) as a formula sheet.  You can write anything you want on the formula sheet (you are not restricted to only formulas).  But the sheet must be handwritten and not typed.  You can write on both sides of the page.

I will be available next week for office hours from 1 - 2PM on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Please watch this video from minute 34 to minute 52.  There will be at least one question on the final exam from the video, just to keep everyone honest.

The homework is due on Feb 22nd.  Remember that you are not permitted to communicate about the homework with anyone except your homework partner.  I'm happy to answer clarifying questions, but I won't answer questions about how to do the homework.  I will answer questions about how old homework or old exam questions were done.

You can buy the recommended textbook here (latest edition).
